  Don't use Thornhill's service dept. I brought my Impreza in for leaking coolant. When I booked the appt it was a 8 day wait. In the mean time parts would be ordered. I asked for a water pump to be ordered and service department refused (because they didn't want to return it if it wasn't needed) and only ordered a thermostat assy. On the day it was schedule to be ready I traveled 160km to pick it up only to be told that the water pump was bad (as I suggested) and that I had to wait 5 more days to be completed. This left me stranded in Terrace with no way home -- service dept didn't even bat a lash at the predicament they caused me or even apologize. The quote was high for the repairs as I had completed the same job previously and been charged less labour and less parts. A family friend who is a licensed tech in another dealership looked up labour for the work being preformed. He stated that I was being over charged book-time for the labour of the job and many parts that should be re-used are being ordered as new. Throughout this whole dealing I received only one call as to the status of my vehicle (that was only after I called on the day it was scheduled to be picked up and the service dept had no idea as to the status of my car). In the end I asked the service dept about over-quoting labour for they job and they confirmed book-time WAS over-quoted and had adjusted it accordingly. I do not trust this dealership, their lack of communication left me stranded in a town 160km from home whilst attempting to overcharge me in the process. The FRAUDULENT PRACTICES here will take advantage of less-informed customers. Travel farther for another dealership or use private shops around Terrace.

  EDIT: On further inspection the tech BROKE my timing belt cover in two places. Now there is a hole allowing the ingress of water and dirt to the belt. The Check engine light also came on the second day I had the vehicle back. Will post results.
